The entire neighborhood has been granted National Historic District status by virtue of the many architecturally significant bungalows there, some of them dating back to the Florida Land Boom of the 1920s. The St. Petersburg High School, built in 1926 is also a designated historical landmark. The Kenwood Neighborhood Association prides itself on maintaining an arts friendly atmosphere and schedules many special events .
