An Historic Neighborhood

Euclid St. Paul's is a neighborhood located in the southwestern portion of St. Petersburg characterized by quiet, tree lined streets.  The northern border is formed by Dr. Martin Luther King Street on the east, 16 St. N. on the west, 22 Ave. N. on the north, and 9 Ave. N. on the south. This historic neighborhood was once an orange grove and underwent rapid development during the Florida Land Boom of the 1920s. Many homes still stand from the era and some even predate it. There is a variety of architectural styles including Mediterranean Revival, Craftsman, Prairie, and Mid Century Modern. Most homes are single family dwellings, many of them with expansive yards back yards. Other choices include townhouses and condominiums. There is a great deal of neighborhood pride and a real sense of community, typified by the active Euclid St. Paul's Neighborhood Association. The annual "Ghost Tour" of the neighborhood has become an October tradition during which costumed tour guides lead groups around the neighborhood and regale them with scary stories and point out allegedly haunted houses.
